Lutein & Zeaxanthin

This is the six-month pouch of Alpha01 Lutein and Zeaxanthin 40mg: 180 vegan capsules, each with 40mg of lutein and 2.5mg of zeaxanthin from marigold flower extract standardised to 80% lutein and 5% zeaxanthin. Every capsule also carries 2mg of BioPerine® black pepper extract, and the rest of the ingredients list is organic brown rice flour and a hypromellose shell.

The marigold flower is the usual source of lutein for supplements, and its petals hold both pigments. An extract standardised to 80% is four fifths lutein, so 40mg needs only a small capsule, and every line on the panel reads no NRV established, because no reference value exists for lutein, zeaxanthin or BioPerine®.
