Organic Dandelion Root

Alpha01 Organic Dandelion Root Extract gives you 500mg of a 10:1 extract of certified organic dandelion root, Taraxacum officinale, in one capsule, standardised to 5% flavones, so each capsule provides 25mg. The panel prints the serving as 5,000mg of dandelion root, the amount of root that went into the 500mg of extract, and the pouch front shows both figures: 5,000mg per capsule and 25mg of flavones. The ingredients are the organic dandelion root 10:1 extract, a hypromellose capsule shell and organic brown rice flour.

A 10:1 ratio means ten parts of dried dandelion root go into one part of extract, which is how 5,000mg of root becomes the 500mg in the capsule. Standardised means every batch is made to hold the same share of flavones, a family of plant compounds, and 5% of 500mg is the 25mg on the panel, where two asterisks mark that no Nutrient Reference Value exists for dandelion root.
